The missions of the CNESE
The Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, chaired yesterday at the Palais des Nations (Algiers), the opening of the work of the first general assembly of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (Cnese), devoted to the installation of the members of the Council for the 2025-2029 mandate. The work of this assembly takes place in the presence of members of the Government, the president of Cnese, Mohamed Boukhari, as well as heads of national organizations and institutions. At the end of its work, Cnese is organizing, on the occasion of the month of Pink October dedicated to breast cancer awareness, a round table entitled ”Pink October: collective action for better prevention and care”, with the participation of experts, specialists and representatives of the National Commission for the Prevention and Control of Cancer, the National Health Security Agency and the National Observatory of Civil Society.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a significant number of ministerial and official personalities, including the Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab; the Minister of State in charge of the General Inspection of State Services and Local Authorities, Brahim Merad; the Minister of Finance, Abdelkrim Bouzard; the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi; the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Maritime Fisheries, Yacine Oualid; the Minister of the Environment and Quality of Life, Kaouthar Krikou; and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, in charge of Mines, Karima Tafer. Also present were the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Omar Rekkache; the president of the Economic Renewal Council, Kamal Moula; and the president of the National Observatory of Civil Society, Ibtissem Hamlaoui. Note that the Cnese is a consultative institution and a framework for dialogue, consultation and proposals in all areas of the life of the citizen and the nation.
Its missions include maintaining dialogue and consultation between national economic and social partners, evaluating and examining issues of national interest in the socio-economic fields, education, training and higher education. The Cnese also works to formulate proposals and recommendations related to national issues and to involve civil society in national consultation on public policies for socio-economic development.
