The President of the National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, affirmed this Tuesday during a parliamentary day devoted to education, that the success of the Nation requires above all the consolidation of the education system.
Ibrahim Boughali, highlighted “the central place of the school in the construction of the nation and in the development of the country”. In this sense, he recalled that “education constitutes the foundation of all civilization and the key to the progress of societies”, emphasizing, in this sense, that no society can aspire to growth without placing school at the center of its priorities. With this in mind, the official wanted to declare that “Algeria very early became aware of this truth, by establishing free and compulsory education, considered as fundamental principles of the modern State”.
The president of the APN specified that “education is both a citizen right and a national and religious duty”, reaffirming “the State’s desire to make it an essential lever for human, economic and societal development”. In his speech, Ibrahim Boughali, above all, praised the model of the Nation’s Cadet Schools, presenting them as “an exemplary experience in terms of education, discipline and equal opportunities”. These schools, he said, offer the same programs as those of the Ministry of National Education.
According to the same speaker, they embody a modern pedagogy, combining discipline, scientific rigor and anchoring identity, while preparing young people to face contemporary technological and societal challenges. Moreover, Mr. Boughali placed emphasis on strengthening cooperation between the different actors in the education system, whether it be the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of National Education, the Academy of Sciences and Technologies, or the National Institute of Global Strategic Studies.
The objective, he explained, is to promote complementarity of vision and to generalize successful experiences within all schools in the country. He also paid tribute to the efforts of the Ministry of National Defense for “its contribution in the field of training and education”, believing once again that it represents “a model of excellence and efficiency”.
Referring to the twelve million students in the country, Boughali recalled that the educational issue concerns the whole of society, and that the success of young people determines that of the nation. And to conclude: “Training tomorrow’s generations in a fair and balanced spirit is the cornerstone of all national strategies aimed at a secure and prosperous future for our country.”
For his part, the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Saghir Saadaoui, specified that the quality of education constitutes a major strategic objective for his department. Saadaoui stressed the importance of “supporting talented students by offering them an optimal educational and training framework, conducive to the development of their skills and the revelation of their potential”. He also recalled “the ministry’s commitment to ensuring rigorous monitoring of these students throughout their university career, in particular via specialized higher education schools”.
The minister highlighted “the model of specialized high schools, which he considers to be an innovative and effective educational approach. He cited as an example the resounding success of the sports high school, recognized nationally for its remarkable results.” This success, he specified, “justifies an in-depth study with a view to generalizing this model throughout the education system”.
