During a meeting this Thursday at the Chinese People’s Assembly, Senator Dalila Bendjoudi pleaded for a strengthening of the parliamentary partnership between Algeria and China, highlighting legislative cooperation on issues relating to women and the sharing of experiences with African parliaments.
During his speech at the headquarters of the Chinese National People’s Congress, in the province of Hainan, on the occasion of the Africa-China Parliamentarians’ Conference, Bendjoudi underlined the importance of developing cooperation commensurate with the historical and strategic relations which link Algeria to China, as well as the links between China and the African continent.
The parliamentarian insisted on the role of sharing experiences and good legislative practices to accelerate the treatment of women’s issues globally, emphasizing the concerns common to African and Chinese women. “This meeting with the members of the Chinese Parliament perfectly illustrates the rapprochement between our two peoples, Algerian and Chinese, linked by a global strategic partnership and many common humanitarian principles,” she declared.
Dalila Bendjoudi also called for strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Algerian and Chinese parliaments, whether within the bilateral framework or through multilateral initiatives with African parliaments. This approach is part of Algeria’s desire to consolidate its role on the international parliamentary scene, while promoting exchanges with its historical partners and the countries of the African continent.
