Perspectives prometteuses sur le marché africain

Promising prospects for the African market

After IATF-2025

The operational mechanisms for monitoring the execution of contracts signed by economic operators with their African partners, during the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF-2025, Algiers, from September 4 to 10, 2025), were put in place by the Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, who chaired, Thursday at the Government Palace, a working meeting dedicated to this purpose. The meeting comes in accordance with the instructions of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. A press release from the Prime Minister’s services specified that the participants in this meeting exchanged views on the promising prospects offered by the African market, and the means of strengthening Algeria’s export capacities to the different countries of the continent, as part of a growing dynamic of regional economic integration.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the constant support that the President of the Republic provides to national economic operators, underlining the major importance of their role in achieving global development objectives and the diversification of the national economy, the press release concludes.
As a reminder, IATF-2025 constituted a pivotal step for Algerian companies in strengthening their presence in African markets, with contracts signed worth more than $11.4 billion, or nearly a quarter of the total agreements concluded.
Indeed, Algeria’s share reached 23.6% of all contracts signed during IATF-2025, estimated at more than $48.3 billion, which testifies to its central role in promoting African integration and embodies the projection of its companies towards their African depth.
In addition to the agreements signed, the event recorded export opportunities and commitments for Algerian companies, which were to be the subject of subsequent signatures, for a value exceeding 11.6 billion dollars.
These agreements concerned various sectors of economic activity, ranging from energy and renewable energies to industry in all its branches (mechanical, chemical, electrical, household appliances, electronics, food, pharmaceutical, steel), including Start-ups, agriculture, tourism and culture.
At the beginning of this month, at the opening, at the International Conference Center (CIC) ”Abdelatif-Rahal”, of a meeting with economic operators to consolidate the success of the 4th edition of the IATF, President Tebboune, underlined, that this event “was a real opportunity for economic operators, from Africa and elsewhere, to discover Algeria”, specifying that they found in our country a favorable investment climate “of which We are starting to reap the benefits, thanks to industrialists and young entrepreneurs with project leaders.”
He recalled that the objectives outlined essentially consist of ensuring the quality and competitiveness of the Algerian product, especially since African countries “now know that the Algerian product is of quality”, stressing that Algeria is banking on a competitive economy, free from bureaucratic constraints and focused on Start-ups, an area where Algeria has become a leader at the African level.
President Tebboune announced that the commission for monitoring the results of the IATF would be attached to the services of the Prime Minister, and insisted on the imperative of “following our commitments regarding the implementation of the signed contracts, and we will not compromise with those who will not respect them”.
The IATF constituted an opportunity and a reason to reflect on the mobilization of more latent capacities in several sectors, such as agriculture, industry and tourism, and the multiplication of initiatives to produce wealth in a country which counts on solid incomes, ahead of the 2063 agenda of the African Union, and determined to be there,” underlined the President of the Republic. He also stressed that IATF-2025 was “an opportunity for economic operators, public and private, to prove that the national economy is on the right track”, affirming that “the strong State is the one which has a strong economy, a strong Army and a conscious and nationalist people”. The National Center for Documentation, Press, Image and Information (Cndpi) has published a special publication dedicated to IATF-2025.
