On the occasion of the global Pink October campaign, dedicated to breast cancer awareness and screening, LG Electronics Algeria organized, in collaboration with the El Azhar clinic, an information and screening day at its headquarters in Algiers.
A laudable initiative which is part of the continuity of the social responsibility actions carried out by LG, which places the health and well-being of its employees at the heart of its priorities. Convinced that prevention is the first step towards a better quality of life, the brand wanted to offer its employees an opportunity to learn more about the disease, to discuss with professionals and to benefit from preventive medical monitoring.
And for this meeting to which media representatives were invited, there was a fairly significant male presence. A wish of the speaker to the extent that prevention is everyone’s business. And it is precisely on this point that we had to insist because screening can be the first step towards recovery.
This day, supervised by a specialized medical team from the El Azhar clinic, combined educational presentations, individual screening examinations and personalized discussions.
Participants were thus able to familiarize themselves with the warning signs of breast cancer, good self-monitoring practices and the importance of regular consultations.
This meeting was marked by an atmosphere of solidarity and kindness, reflecting LG’s desire to promote strong human values. Staff also took part in the campaign by wearing the traditional pink ribbon, a symbol of hope and the fight against disease.
It was therefore a question of “causes and risk factors”, “diagnosis”, “screening from the age of 40”, “treatments” before concluding with “what to remember”.
In fact, the participants especially, had all the answers they wanted regarding breast cancer, which is no longer as scary as it was a few years ago. Science has evolved so much that some patients are able to lead a normal life. There is also this advance which allows the woman to keep what belongs to her, namely her breast, when we know that it is important to her. But we will never stop repeating it, screening is important. Beyond possible signs, a mammogram is necessary every two years for those over 40.

Through this initiative, we want to remind you that prevention saves lives and that it is crucial to remain attentive to your health,” said Nadia Bourega, public relations manager at LG Electronics Algeria.
