The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, affirmed Sunday from the wilaya of Bordj Bou-Arréridj that the Algerian University has become “the main engine of economic growth” through the Start-ups that its graduates create and “contribute to the diversification of the national economy”.
In his speech at the amphitheater of the Mohamed El Bachir El Ibrahimi University as part of his visit to the wilaya, the minister underlined the interest shown by the President of the Republic,
Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, for higher education and scientific research, having made the University “the beating heart and main engine of the national economy”.
He considered that the Mohamed El Bachir El Ibrahimi University constitutes a model of this success since its students managed, he noted, “in a single year to create 58 economic micro-enterprises and Start-ups in addition to 38 innovative projects likely to be transformed into Start-ups and three locally activating companies”.
The minister affirmed that “the Algerian student contributes strongly to the objective of creating 20,000 Start-ups by 2029 and now holds a place in the Algerian market through the added value that it brings”, adding: “We found at the Mohamed El Bachir El Ibrahimi University innovative engineers, a research laboratory and high-level innovative projects which have gone beyond the stage of science and learning to that of the production and realization of ideas.
The minister began his visit to the wilaya with the inauguration of the annex of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) named after the ”moudjahid professor Djamel Kenan” before visiting an exhibition held in the University hall on active start-up and micro-enterprise projects.
He also carried out the remote commissioning of the leptonic anatomy table of the University of Adrar which and an Algerian project of the first anatomy table for the benefit of medical sciences presenting an integration rate of 70% developed in partnership by the University of Saïda, a Start-up and an Algerian factory.
At the end of his visit, the minister honored teachers who have distinguished themselves through their research work on a global scale as well as student winners of cultural, scientific and sporting competitions.
