Algerian Women’s Foundation: making screening a national priority
Pink October
Organized by the Algerian Women’s Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Pink October 2025 Campaign, under the slogan: ”Prevention, support, healing”. “Women’s health, a national commitment” ended on Saturday during an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the national company Air Algérie, one of the partners of this event with the Hayat group and Anep CS.
This meeting marked the end of a month of national mobilization to raise awareness of early detection of breast cancer, through the “It’s My Right” caravan which traveled through 8 wilayas in the country.
The ceremony brought together government representatives, health professionals, national and international partners as well as media actors committed to women’s health.
A national initiative, it should be remembered, dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer screening, and to the promotion of women’s health.
This new edition, organized as part of the Foundation’s “Women in Health” circle, brought together women experts from the medical, scientific and social sectors around the same objective: to strengthen prevention, inform and mobilize young women throughout the national territory.
The campaign was therefore marked by the holding of the “It’s My Right” caravan, which traveled through eight wilayas with the program, interactive conferences, awareness stands and spaces for exchanges between doctors, students and women leaders.
For this closing evening, two thematic panels structured the conference, the first on the national strategy, screening programs and large-scale awareness and the second relating to technological innovations, care coordination and perspectives for research and innovation.
Awareness raising, screening, early diagnosis, digitization of patient files, effective participation of the CNAS… so many subjects which were reviewed by the experts, but also the honorable audience with a rich debate which provides information on the degree of awareness.
The speakers did not fail to note the importance of maintaining this awareness dynamic, and not just being content with this month of “Pink October”. SG
