Oran wins best emerging tourist city in Africa for the year 2025
AFASU Golden Award
The city of Oran won the Golden award from the Afro-Asian Union (AFASU) for the best emerging tourist city in Africa for the year 2025.
Oran, the Radiant, stood out among more than twenty (20) African cities having participated in this continental competition.
This distinction reflects the important reforms that the tourism sector in Algeria has undergone in recent years.
In this regard, the president of the National Federation of Hotels and Tourism (FNHT),
Mr. Abdelouahab Boulefkhad, indicated that the choice of Oran to participate in this competition “was based on its major tourist assets, in particular its infrastructure, as well as on its significant organizational capacities when hosting several major economic, political and sporting events”.
In addition to its natural assets and its quality infrastructure, Oran has a rich historical heritage, which is added to all the aforementioned factors which have enabled the city to rise to the top of emerging tourist cities in Africa, all qualities which predestined it to occupy a place of choice on the international tourism map.
