Plus de 107 milliards de DA pour garantir la stabilité des prix – Le Jeune Indépendant

With an envelope of more than 107 billion dinars dedicated to market regulation and the fight against speculation, the Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation makes price stability and consumer protection a priority of its 2026 budget, placing transparency and efficiency at the heart of its strategy.

During a hearing session organized by the finance and budget committee of the National People’s Assembly (APN), the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, presented the budget for her sector as part of the 2026 finance bill (PLF).

The minister specified that the PLF 2026 allocated to the internal trade sector a budget of more than 126.61 billion DA in commitment authorizations and nearly 130 billion DA in payment credits.

In this sense, the regulation program, market supply and promotion of competition, benefits from an envelope of more than 107 billion dinars. It aims to guarantee the regular availability of widely consumed products and to regulate commercial practices, in particular through the strengthening of price control mechanisms.

This system aims to reduce speculation and consolidate the stability of the national market, in line with the policy of supporting local production. In this context, the ministry pays particular attention to the rehabilitation of local markets and the structuring of commercial spaces in order to boost local economic activities.

The second strategic component concerns consumer protection, with a budget of nearly 14 billion dinars in payment credits. It is based on the development of quality control systems and the modernization of fraud prevention laboratories.

Several concrete operations are planned, including the equipment of new laboratories in different wilayas and the creation of commercial inspection headquarters to strengthen coverage on the ground. The objective is to ensure the health safety of products intended for consumption and to improve citizens’ confidence in commercial circuits.

In addition, the PLF 2026 allocated to the general administration of the sector an envelope of 6.5 billion DA in commitment authorizations, intended to strengthen digital transformation, improve working conditions and renew IT equipment.

The Minister of Internal Trade stressed that this strategy is part of a reform approach based on transparency, performance and management by results, in accordance with Organic Law No. 18-15 relating to finance laws and the National Economic Development Plan 2026–2028.

According to the same official, the sector’s budgetary policy also emphasizes the digitalization of services, the creation of new commercial structures in border areas as well as partnership with the agricultural sector through preventive regulation mechanisms (Syrpalac).

In addition, the sector’s 2026 budget provides for an increase of 4.5 billion DA compared to that of the current year, reflecting, according to the minister, “the importance of the missions entrusted to the ministry, in terms of market stability, consumer protection and strengthening of economic transparency, in an approach aimed at reconciling freedom of economic initiative and control guaranteeing the protection of the general interest”.

As part of the preparations for the next Ramadan, Ms. Abdellatif affirmed that the sector has begun coordination with all stakeholders in order to ensure the availability of all consumer products, the organization of local markets across the different wilayas of the country, in addition to the launch of promotional sales programs and at reduced prices, while strengthening control operations.

The minister also underlined that this budget was drawn up in a spirit of realism and efficiency, taking into account international fluctuations which affect prices and supplies, and being part of the vision of the President of the Republic aimed at consolidating the country’s commercial and food sovereignty.
