Signature d’un accord stratégique pour le développement – Le Jeune Indépendant

Algeria and China signed a cooperation agreement in the field of development, marking a new stage in their strategic partnership. This text provides for the implementation of priority projects with the aim of strengthening the national economy and opening up sustainable development prospects for the country, while consolidating Algeria’s role regionally and internationally. This was indicated in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs.

Sofiane Chaib, Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, received this Tuesday the Vice-President of the Chinese International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Liu Junfeng, on a working visit to Algeria from October 27 to 29. This meeting was an opportunity to examine and exchange views on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in its technical and development aspects, particularly through the enhancement of the Algerian-Chinese partnership in areas of common interest.

On this occasion, the two parties signed a cooperation agreement in the field of development, under which priority projects will be implemented. The discussions focused on collaboration priorities and how to implement concrete projects, capable of having a direct and lasting impact on the national economy. They also discussed mechanisms to strengthen the exchange of skills, technologies and expertise between the two countries.

The signed agreement thus provides for the realization of projects deemed priority, the main objective of which is to contribute to the consolidation of the national economy. These initiatives will create new growth opportunities, support infrastructure development and strengthen local technical and industrial capacities. The ministry specified that these projects are designed to generate a tangible impact on the ground, while promoting a transfer of know-how and skills, essential for Algeria in achieving its ambitions for sustainable development and economic modernization. For Mr. Chaib, this signature represents a strong signal of Algeria’s desire to intensify its international partnerships, while relying on solid and reliable alliances.

For his part, Liu Junfeng reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Algeria in its development projects, highlighting the complementarity between the two countries and the desire to support initiatives that meet local needs, while respecting international standards of quality and efficiency.

It should be noted that this strategic agreement comes at a key moment when Algeria seeks to diversify its economy and create new opportunities for its youth and businesses. The implementation of these projects will strengthen the country’s competitiveness, but also open up employment and development prospects for local economic actors. Therefore, by strengthening their partnership, Algeria and China are committed to balanced and sustainable cooperation, focused on the future, which will support the economic modernization, technological development and sustainable growth of the country.
