Under the theme “Message for the generations”, the Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders celebrated, at the National Mujahid Museum, the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the revolution of November 1, 1954. A commemoration marked with emotion and solemnity, in the presence of high state authorities, historical figures and numerous guests.
Tacherift paid a vibrant tribute to the revolution of 1erNovember, describing this founding event as “a light that dispelled the darkness of colonialism” and an “eternal symbol of freedom and dignity”, during the ceremony which took place in the presence of the President of the Council of the Nation, Azzouz Nasri, the President of the National People’s Assembly, Brahim Boughali, as well as several members of the government, national figures, parliamentarians, mujahideen, mujahideen and representatives of the revolutionary family.
In his speech, Mr. Tacherift underlined that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, “has made the preservation of national memory a cornerstone of his national project”. “Because,” he recalled, “he who does not safeguard his memory cannot build his future.”
The minister noted the importance of the collective responsibility to pass on to younger generations “the flame of November”, that of a revolution which was, according to him, “a cry for freedom and a burst of dignity in the face of inhuman colonialism, based on dispossession, depersonalization and the denial of the right to existence”. He also declared that “our duty towards history is to bequeath to the rising generations the original message of November, with its noble values and its high ideals, so that they can be inspired by it in the construction of a strong Algeria, united and faithful to its martyrs”.
Returning to the historical significance of the liberation struggle, Mr. Tacherift recalled that “the Algerian revolution was not a simple local event, but a universal epic having opened the way to other freedom-loving peoples”. She added that “she was the voice of law and justice, a source of inspiration to all those throughout the world who fought oppression and sought to liberate people and nations. »
The minister praised the courage of the pioneers of the national struggle, “those men who understood that what was taken by force could only be recovered by force”, paying tribute to their faith, their self-sacrifice and their sacrifice for the homeland.
Youth, heir to the spirit of November
In a tone of hope, Mr. Tacherift reaffirmed the central place of youth in the vision of the President of the Republic, stressing that “President Tebboune has placed young people at the heart of the national project, convinced that they are the natural heirs of the November generation, the builders of the new Algeria, that of competence, merit and ambition”. He continued by noting that “it is in the memory of November that we draw our determination, and in the trust placed in our youth that we find hope. Through their efforts, a victorious Algeria will emerge, faithful to its history and turned towards the future.”
The minister also paid solemn tribute to the People’s National Army (ANP), “a worthy heir to the National Liberation Army”, saluting “the vigilance, dedication and patriotism of its men who ensure the security and stability of the country”. The ceremony was marked by the presentation of honorary distinctions to several figures of the national struggle, like the mujahideen Salah Goudjil, Daho Ould Kablia, Mohamed Djaghaba, Mohamed Maouch, as well as the mujahida Fatma Naâmaoui, who were saluted for their exemplary career and their loyalty to the homeland.
He reaffirmed Algeria’s unwavering attachment to its history, stressing that “fidelity to November is an oath that each generation must renew.” Maintaining that “preserving the memory, honoring the sacrifice and continuing the work of our elders, this is the most beautiful tribute that we can pay to our martyrs”, he launched a solemn appeal in the continuity of the project outlined by the Declaration of 1er November 1954 to “build, with the same faith and the same courage, the victorious Algeria that they dreamed of”. An Algeria, he concluded, “sovereign, strong in its youth and faithful to the flame of November which will never be extinguished”.
