,The leaders of the Ligue 2 amateur football Championship experienced varying fortunes during the eighth day played on Friday, notably with CR Témouchent still leading the Center-West group, despite the draw at home against ESM Koléa (1-1), while US Biskra consolidated its place as leader of the Center-East group by sharing the points with JS Bordj Ménaiel (1-1).
Central-West Group: Témouchent still leader, positions are tightening at the top
CR Témouchent, although solid at home, let slip two precious points by conceding a frustrating draw against ESM Koléa. This result fully benefits its pursuers, starting with RC Kouba, author of a prestigious victory against JS El Biar (1-0). The Koubeens, driven by a newfound realism and a solid defensive block, signed a new success and joined the leading pack (16 pts).
Same performance for ASM Oran, which confirmed its good start to the season by dominating JS Texraine (2-1). The Oranese, effective in key moments, are back on level with the leader’s immediate pursuers, in a quartet now made up of CR Témouchent, JS El Biar, RC Kouba and ASM Oran, separated by a single point. Behind this quartet, NA Hussein Dey was forced to share points in Saïda (1-1), while USM El-Harrach offered a convincing victory against WA Tlemcen (2-0). At the bottom of the table, CRB Adrar beat US Béchar Djedid (1-0), while GC Mascara signed its first victory of the season at the expense of JSM Tiaret (2-0). RC Arbaâ, author of a match in Mostaganem (1-1), remains last with only one point in eight days.
Central-East Group: Biskra hanging on, Jijel hits hard
In the Center-East group, US Biskra consolidated its first place (18 pts) despite its draw against JS Bordj Ménaiel (1-1). The Biskra players remain undefeated and remain two steps ahead of CA Batna, surprised in Jijel by JSD (2-0), now tied for fourth with US Chaouia, victorious away from MSP Batna (1-0). MO Béjaïa missed the opportunity to catch up with the leader by losing at home to everyone’s surprise against NC Magra (0-1), while USM Annaba and HB Chelghoum Laïd were neutralized (0-0).
IB Khemis El Khechna, for its part, won a crucial duel for maintenance against NRB Béni Oulbane (2-1).
After eight days, the hierarchy remains tight in both groups and the competition remains keen as we approach the third of the championship, where every point will count in the race to climb as well as in the fight to maintain.n
