Israel’s military is reportedly retrieving hundreds of Chinese-made vehicles previously issued to senior officers, amid growing national security concerns.
According to reports in Calcalist and Yisrael Hayom, roughly 700 Chery Tiggo 8 Pro SUVs—allocated since 2022 to lieutenant colonels and colonels with large families—are being recalled following intelligence warnings about potential espionage risks.
Earlier this year, the IDF prohibited all Chinese-manufactured cars from entering bases, fearing onboard sensors and cameras could gather classified data. The army has not issued an official response to the reports.
