The meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters in the presence of department executives and representatives of the Iranian embassy, allowed the two parties to review the relations of cooperation and partnership between Algeria and Iran as well as the prospects for their development. Mr. Babaei took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to Mrs. Tafer and the Algerian people on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the National Liberation War.

The discussions focused on ways to intensify bilateral cooperation in the mining sector and explore new business and investment opportunities. She highlighted the importance of encouraging projects integrating mastery of technologies, transfer of know-how and technical training, stressing that the Algerian mining sector today offers numerous long-term investment opportunities.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador praised the quality of cooperative relations between the two countries and reaffirmed his country’s desire to consolidate economic and technical exchanges with Algeria. He expressed the wish to see Iranian companies increase meetings with Algerian operators in order to examine available opportunities and expand existing partnerships.
Mr. Babaei also sent a personal invitation to Ms. Tafer to travel to Tehran on the occasion of the Iranian International Export Fair, scheduled for the end of April 2026. He also invited, through him, Algerian companies to actively participate in this event, which will constitute, according to him, a platform conducive to the promotion of industrial and mining cooperation between the two countries.
