road accidents Boudjemaâ unveils the bill for the new highway code

The new road traffic bill contains stricter, more coercive and more severe resolutions against the perpetrators and those responsible for road accidents, in accordance with the road map established by President Tebboune, Abdelmadjid Tebboune. Yesterday Monday, the Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Lotfi Boudjemaâ was clear regarding the bill on road traffic when he declared that, from now on and for the first time, the State has decided to punish each party held responsible for road accidents. In other words, everyone is concerned and responsible in the new highway code, starting with the very perpetrators of fatal accidents on the roads or even the driving schools which issue driving licenses to new candidates and the technical inspection centers which check the condition of vehicles. The new highway code, which the Minister of Justice is expected to present very soon to the members of the National People’s Assembly (APN), came at a time when road accidents are on a steep rise. After a deadly summer on the roads where more than 700 people died in traffic accidents, the State and at its head the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, decided to crack down, or even respond to the very worrying increase in road accidents in the country. The new highway code, of which the Minister of Justice, Lotfi Boudjemaâ, revealed only part yesterday Monday in Algiers, grants no tolerance to the perpetrators of fatal traffic accidents. Better still, all parties affected by road accidents will, for the first time, be held responsible, according to the new highway code. The Minister of Justice Lotfi Boudjemaâ affirmed yesterday Monday that the next new highway code has been enriched thanks to the contributions of all stakeholders, in accordance with the road map established by the President of the Republic. In a statement to National Radio, the minister indicated yesterday Monday that all causes of road accidents have been taken into account in the new bill and that a road map has been defined in a new legal framework. The Minister of Justice, Minister of Justice, stressed that the new highway code will be stricter and more restrictive, and that, for the first time, certain parties will be held responsible for road accidents.
