In a press release made public, the Ministry of National Defense (MDN), a dangerous terrorist surrendered to the forces of the National People’s Army (ANP) while eight (8) elements supporting terrorist groups were arrested.
The same press release specified that the terrorist surrendered to the military authorities of In Guezzam and the eight (8) elements of support for the terrorist groups were arrested by detachments of the ANP in different operations carried out during the period from November 5 to 11 in progress, indicates, this Wednesday, an operational report of the ANP.
The Ministry of Defense added that in the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the ANP executed, during the period from November 5 to 11, 2025, several operations resulting in quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory, specified the same source. Still and according to the press release from the Ministry of National Defense, as part of the fight against terrorism and thanks to the efforts of the ANP units, the terrorist named (T. Sid Ahmed) alias (Mohamed), surrendered to the military authorities of In Guezzam in the 6th Military Region, in his possession a Simonov type semi-automatic rifle, a quantity of ammunition and other effects.
In the same context, “detachments of the ANP arrested 8 elements of support for terrorist groups, in different operations across the national territory”.
As part of the fight against organized crime and “in continuation of the efforts deployed to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, combined detachments of the ANP intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, 61 drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce 3 quintals and 44 kilograms of processed kif, coming from the borders with Morocco, while 2 kilograms of cocaine and 412,013 psychotropic tablets were seized.
“In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Guezzam, Illizi, ANP detachments arrested 664 individuals and seized 20 vehicles, 319 generators, 171 jackhammers, as well as quantities of mixture of raw gold and stones and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations,” adds the report.
Likewise, “20 other individuals were apprehended and a machine gun, 6 hunting rifles, 71,645 liters of fuel, as well as 10 tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized, during separate operations”.
Furthermore, “the Coast Guard foiled, on the national coasts, attempts at illegal emigration and rescued 165 individuals aboard artisanal boats, while 380 illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory,” concludes the operational report of the ANP.
In short, the efforts made by the forces of the National People’s Army aimed at ensuring the security and serenity of the country have found a favorable response by the political class and by the various non-governmental organizations.
