In his speech to the guests of this commemorative evening, the Algerian consul Mr. El Ouahid Abdelbaki will say: “Azoul Felawen, hello, Mr. representative of the Algerian Embassy in Paris, Mr. Senator, Gentlemen of the Algerian consuls in Ile de France, Mrs. Manager of the Algerian consulate in Paris, Ladies and Gentlemen Mayors, Ladies and Gentlemen presidents of civil society associations, dear colleagues of the Algerian consulate in Pontoise and in the Paris region, dear friends, dear compatriots. Algeria commemorates this November 1, 2025 the 71st anniversary of the start of the national revolution which led our dear country to independence, our thoughts and prayers are dedicated to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives so that Algeria is free and independent. Seven and a half years of heroic resistance to colonialism and a million and a half martyrs so that Algeria can restore its full sovereignty. On this memorable occasion, allow me to recall the commitment of the national community established in the world and particularly in France as an integral component of the Algerian people for national independence. To this end, the commemoration of the demonstrations of October 17, 1961 by Algeria constitutes a permanent tribute to the national community established abroad including France for its participation in the national liberation struggle, this national community abroad has in its ranks skills of high social professional qualifications which can be put at the service of our homeland and this in the wake of the major development projects launched by our great country. Today the new Algeria honors the memory of its children who fell in Algeria and abroad, particularly in France, so that we can and our children can live the era of freedom and regained dignity. Fashion shows of traditional Algiers, Tlemcan, Chaoui and Kabyle outfits presented by the stylist JOUJOU…. were also very applauded by those present accompanied by ululations… Before sitting down to eat a succulent meal accompanied by typically Algerian cakes for dessert… The musical evening was provided by the two tenors of Algerian song in this case Salim Fergani and Hocine l’Asnami in an electric atmosphere, we noted on site. It is interesting to note that despite the death in Algeria the day before the reception of Mr. Mohamed Bendjedou’s brother, an executive at the Algerian consulate in Pontoise, the latter remained until the end of the evening before leaving for Algeria for the funeral… The director and staff of the newspaper La Nouvelle République present their sincere condolences to him. Know that we are all by your side at this difficult time. The entire staff of La Nouvelle République also wished a speedy recovery to the Consul of Algeria in Pontoise.
