On a working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Ouargla in the company of local authorities, the Minister of Health, Mohamed Essedik Ait Messaoudène, insisted, the day before yesterday Saturday, on the dynamics of the continued development of the health system and improvement of public service throughout the country. During his trip to Ouargla, the Minister of Health attended the launch of the 400-bed university hospital project, in the public facilities zone, where Mohamde Essedik Ait Messaoudène indicated that his ministerial department is working hard to remove obstacles hindering the promotion of public service in the health sector, in accordance with the guidelines of the country’s highest authorities, with a view to better responding to citizens’ concerns. Very determined to carry out the national health strategy to the letter, as was outlined and desired by the country’s high authorities, the Minister of Health reiterated, the day before yesterday from the wilaya of Ouargla, his commitment and that of all the players in the sector to achieve and materialize both this noble and very necessary objective. “We remain committed to continuing the work to achieve health equity and ensure modern, efficient and quality services across all the wilayas of the country,” said Mohamed Essedik Ait Messaoudène. While inspecting the launch of the university hospital project in Ouargla, the minister listened to a presentation on this future hospital infrastructure which will cover a total area of 33.7 hectares and will encompass several services, including medical-surgical emergencies, the main hospitalization units, including the Mother-Child units, those of surgery and general medicine, as well as the technical platform, the external pavilions, the logistics structures, as well as an educational wing for training and research, according to the data provided. Also, the minister proceeded, in the company of local authorities, to the operationalization of the burns department at the level of the EPH-Mohamed Boudiaf public hospital establishment, in the capital of the wilaya of Ouargla, with a capacity of 40 beds (30 for hospitalization and 10 for the intensive care unit). The service in question has three specialists in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, one in intensive care, one in surgery and another in clinical psychology, in addition to 12 public health nurses. This important project for the population of the city of Ouargla was financed, it should be noted, by the Sonatrach group, the latter contributed 200 million DA to the financing of its equipment, it was reported.
