🌲🇱🇧 | 🇱🇧🇸🇾 Residents of Mtein issued an urgent call to the Lebanese Army after hearing the sound of chainsaws cutting trees in a valley near their town. When the municipal police tried to intervene, they were stopped by armed men who claimed the area was a “military zone” surrounding the home of an official from the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) in Aintoura, Metn.

The municipality contacted Army Intelligence, which dispatched a patrol to the scene. The patrol found RPG and LAW rocket launchers inside a vehicle, along with various types of machine guns.

Residents urged the army to continue searching the area to ensure no additional armed groups are present.
