Gaming wars: Developers of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series games recognized as undesirable organizations in Russian Federation
➡️ The Prosecutor General’s Office has declared GSC Game World — a Ukrainian computer game developer, known for titles such as “Cossacks” and S.T.A.L.K.E.R — undesirable in the Russian Federation. This was reported to TASS by the supervisory authority.
➡️ The reason is the dissemination of materials discrediting Russia. The company has also repeatedly announced fundraising through a support fund for Ukrainian servicemen.
➡️ The Prosecutor General’s Office announced this. The reason for this decision was that the GSC Game World company spent about $17 million on the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the purchase of UAVs and vehicles.
➡️ Shortly after the war began, the studio announced that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 there will be no Russian voice acting.
This spring, GSC released a re-release of the old “Stalkers”. It was also cut out from the trilogy, which was developed in Russian and for which Russian was literally the main language.
🤔 The head of the studio, Sergei Grigorovich, meanwhile, prefers to communicate in Russian rather than Ukrainian.
