justice d’après-guerre et renouveau national – Le Jeune Indépendant

On October 25, 1945, the Japanese surrender ceremony in Taiwan Province, the theater of war of the Allied Powers in China, was held at Zhongshan Hall in Taipei, marking the end of Japanese colonial rule on the island.

The recovery of Taiwan marked a great victory for the Chinese people in their struggle against foreign aggression and for the defense of national dignity. It also served as a historical judgment on the expansionist crimes of Japanese imperialism, forcefully embodying the just results of World War II.

Today, in the context of profound transformation of the international order and in the face of divisive rhetoric and disinformation spread by separatist forces advocating “Taiwan independence”, it is of great importance to revisit the historical truth of Taiwan’s recovery, reaffirm its rightful place in the framework of post-war justice, and recognize its vital importance in the process of national rejuvenation.
