APN Promotion of local products in Africa

Participants in the work of a parliamentary day on African economic integration, held Monday in Algiers, pleaded for the strengthening of the role of Algerian economic diplomacy in the promotion of local products on African markets and the consolidation of commercial links between Algeria and the countries of the continent.
In their recommendations presented at the end of this parliamentary day, organized by the Committee on Economic Affairs, Development, Industry, Trade and Planning of the APN, the participants considered that economic diplomacy is able to play a crucial role in the professional marketing of Algerian products and services in Africa, stressing the need to associate the Algerian community established abroad in this approach.
They also called for supporting economic enterprises and facilitating their access to African markets, in the areas of trade and investment, while offering innovative financing solutions.
The participants also highlighted the importance of supporting university initiatives and Algerian skills in order to contribute to the strengthening of African integration and to make the most of the capacities promoting integration and transfer of expertise within African markets, particularly in the energy and electricity, telecommunications and optical fiber sectors.
Insisting on the need to guarantee the transparency of various commercial operations, as a pillar of the protection of the national economy, the participants underlined the importance of capitalizing on the success of the 4th edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF-2025), recently hosted by Algeria, and of expanding the Algerian presence in major economic events and African forums, in order to consolidate the country’s position in the continental space.
In the field of transport, the recommendations insisted on optimizing the operational efficiency of ports and the development of logistics platforms, while calling for redoubled efforts to guarantee the delivery of Algerian products to African markets with greater competitiveness.
The parliamentary day aimed to debate ways to strengthen African integration, while highlighting Algeria’s historic role in supporting South-South cooperation.
