The artist and actress Ouarda Amel bows out

The great artist and actress Ouarda Amel, whose real name was Aouda Sadouki, died on Monday in Algiers following a long illness, we learned from the National Office of Copyright and Related Rights (ONDA).
Ouarda Amel was considered one of the icons of cinema and television in Algeria, participating, in the 1970s, in several famous Algerian films and serials, alongside great Algerian directors and actors, as well as in sketches with several renowned comedians, such as Hassan Hassani, nicknamed “Boubagra”. Among the works in which she took part, we find cinematographic and television films, historical and social, such as Les Enfants de Novembre (1975) by Moussa Haddad, La Grande Tentative (1982) by Djamel Fezzaz, Hassan Taxi (1982) by Mohamed Slim Riad, Samia et son père (1985) by Mustapha Badie, as well as serials including Al-Massir by Djamel Fezzaz. The deceased was particularly known to the Algerian public for her mother roles, in which she excelled, such as her role as mother of the young Mourad Ben Safi in the historical film “Les Enfan ts de Novembre” or that of the mother of “Samia” in the film (social comedy) “Samia and her father”.
