Poland has granted more than 100,000 euros in humanitarian aid to Sahrawi refugees established in the Tindouf camps, said this Thursday, a press release from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Algeria

“This support will be channeled through the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR),” said the diplomatic representation, adding that this initiative is part of Poland’s ongoing commitment to international humanitarian action.

Poland’s aid “follows a careful assessment of the urgent needs of Sahrawi refugees and demonstrates Poland’s firm desire to support just causes across the world,” the statement continued.

According to the embassy, this is Poland’s first contribution specifically dedicated to Sahrawi refugees.

“Our country has been a long-standing, reliable donor to several global humanitarian organizations. The country is among the largest donors supporting Ukraine,” the text reads.
