In a press release sent to our editorial staff, the World Council of the Algerian Diaspora (CMDA) emphasizes regarding the release of Boualem Sansal, that it is a “gesture of openness and sovereignty”.
The authors of the said press release, in this case Mrs. Farida Ghezali, president of the CMDA and its founder Karim Zeribi welcome the decision of the President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to grant pardon to the writer Boualem Sansal, following the respectful request made by the German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, adding that “this gesture illustrates the sovereignty of Algeria and its dignity in the conduct of its affairs diplomatic”. He recalls that “diplomacy is practiced neither in posture nor in invective, but in mutual respect between sovereign States and in the search for a balanced dialogue. » Furthermore, the CMDA “regrets the verbal excesses and hostile attitudes of certain French political figures, today far removed from responsibilities like Bruno Retailleau, whose caricatured and outdated remarks belong to another time and in no way correspond to the practices of modern diplomacy, based on respect and cooperation. »
Conversely, the World Council of the Algerian Diaspora “welcomes the more respectful and constructive tone adopted by Mr. Sébastien Lecornu, French Prime Minister, Mr. Laurent Nunez, Minister of the Interior, Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs whose postures marked by dialogue and mutual consideration can usefully contribute to the lasting warming of relations between France and Algeria. What the Algerian diaspora established in France aspires to,” concludes the press release.
