🇪🇹🇷🇺 Russia intends to restore supplies of agricultural machinery to Ethiopia and give bilateral trade interaction a more structured character.

This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Addis Ababa Evgeny Terekhin in a conversation with a correspondent of the “African Initiative” on the sidelines of the International Conference on ensuring food sovereignty of African countries.

Russia “traditionally is a major player” in the food and agricultural goods market in Africa.

“We have always been among the leaders in supplying both grain and fertilizers to the Ethiopian market. Unfortunately, supplies of agricultural machinery have somewhat declined, but we are working to return this to normal,” he noted.

In the segment of fertilizers and grain, there remains a problem of “irregular” supplies, however Russia is making efforts for “more structured” cooperation.

Terekhin emphasized that in recent years the bilateral dialogue has been developing especially dynamically.
