Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb, who arrived yesterday, Tuesday, in Egypt, accompanied by a high-level ministerial delegation, for an official visit as part of the holding of the 9th session of the Grand Joint Algerian-Egyptian Cooperation Commission, was officially received the same day, at the Presidential Palace in Cairo, by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. He conveyed to him the fraternal greetings of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as well as his deep recognition and his firm commitment to work together to strengthen fraternal ties between the two countries and deepen the bilateral partnership in all areas.
At the start of the meeting, President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi expressed his deep gratitude to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, welcoming the constant communication between them to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries, united by a common history of struggle. He also expressed the esteem and respect that Algeria enjoys in Egypt, among the leaders, the government and the people. President al-Sissi added that Algeria and Egypt, two essential pillars for maintaining the stability of the Arab world and North Africa, will continue to work to strengthen coordination and consultation on various issues of common interest, in order to enable them to fully discharge their responsibilities in this area. President al-Sissi welcomed the level of bilateral relations and the success of partnership projects between the two countries, affirming Egypt’s willingness to do everything possible to bring bilateral cooperation and economic exchanges up to the potential of the two nations.
He expressed his wishes for success for the 9th session of the High Joint Committee, which meets today, stressing the need to ensure the follow-up and effective implementation of its conclusions in order to guarantee the achievement of the expected results, for the benefit of both economies.
For his part, the Prime Minister praised the deep historical ties that unite the two countries and their brotherly peoples, as well as the desire of their leaders to strengthen bilateral cooperation by exploiting all the partnership opportunities offered by the two economies, according to an approach based on integration and synergy within the framework of the continental and Arab free trade agreements to which they are parties. The Prime Minister also affirmed that the holding of this session is part of the implementation of the directives of President Tebboune and President al-Sissi, issued during his visit to Egypt last October, with the aim of promoting the partnership between the two countries.
