The Prime Minister, Mr. Sifi Ghrieb, chaired, the day before yesterday, Monday, a Government meeting devoted to the examination of a draft Executive Decree setting the conditions and modalities for the approval of electronic communications equipment and a draft Presidential Decree, establishing a national data governance system.
“The Government has examined a draft Executive Decree setting the conditions and modalities for the approval of electronic communications equipment,” said a press release from the Prime Minister’s services, stressing that this project “is part of the implementation of the provisions of Law No. 18-04 of May 10, 2018, establishing the general rules relating to post and electronic telecommunications.”
The purpose of this text is to provide a framework for verifying the conformity of electronic communications equipment with the applicable standards and specifications, particularly regarding the safety and health of users, the protection of electronic communications networks and interoperability.
Furthermore, the Government has also begun examining a draft presidential decree, establishing a national data governance system.
This draft text, continued the same press release, is part of the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, relating to the national digital transformation strategy, in particular with regard to the interconnection between the different institutions and public administrations as well as the creation of a national digital database.
This text constitutes a legal, coherent and operational framework for the national data governance system, enshrining the sovereignty of the State over data of national interest and guaranteeing organized, secure and transparent management of public data.
Finally, and as part of the periodic monitoring of major structuring investment projects, the Government heard a communication on the progress of the implementation programs for the East and West mining railway projects, linking Béchar and Tindouf over a distance of 575 km, as part of the Gara Djebilet project, and between Annaba and Djebel Onk in Tébessa, over a distance of 422 km, as part of the phosphate project. integrated.
Namely, in this sense, that the mining railway project connects Gara Djebilet, Tindouf and Béchar, aims to revive the national economy and contribute to diversifying the country’s income by exploiting the iron deposit of Gara Djebilet, by providing the raw materials necessary for national industries and by creating jobs. The project includes distinct sections, including that linking Béchar to Tindouf, currently being completed, with an expected delivery date in January 2026.
