The Minister of Communication pleads in favor of strengthened Afro-African cooperation

African Television Broadcasting Forum in Dakar

The Minister of Communication, Mr. Zoheir Bouamama, indicated, Tuesday in Dakar, that Algeria is pleading in favor of strengthened Afro-African cooperation in the field of communication, underlining the particular importance accorded by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid
Tebboune, to partnership in all areas with the countries of the continent. “Algeria calls for strengthened Afro-African cooperation to face the challenges of globalization and the rapid changes experienced by the media landscape and remains willing to intensify cooperation in this vital sector with the countries of the continent,” affirmed Mr. Bouamama in a speech on the occasion of the African Television Broadcasting Forum (FAT) which is being held in the Senegalese capital. He added that in “the era of artificial intelligence, the continent is faced with unprecedented challenges, such as the massive flow of information, the influence of platforms and technological dependence”, believing that “these challenges require the development of an Afro-African communication strategy capable of protecting our information space, promoting our values, our cultures and our ambitions on the international scene”.
To this end, he underlined “the particular importance that the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, attaches to economic, political and cultural partnerships with African countries as well as to the strengthening of inter-African solidarity”, which constitutes, he said, “an essential guideline of our foreign policy”. Speaking about the holding of the African Television Broadcasting Forum, he considered that this meeting constitutes an opportunity to “reaffirm the importance that Algeria accords to its African roots and its availability to establish bridges between the Algerian media and their African colleagues for, in particular, the exchange of expertise and the co-production of content”.
