A weekly commercial maritime line will connect the port of Skikda to that of Valencia in Spain “from January 2026”, we learned on Tuesday from the services of the Skikda port company. According to the same source, a working session was held the day before yesterday Tuesday at the headquarters of the Skikda port company between its executives and representatives of the Spanish maritime transport company Marguisa representing the global company HMM to discuss the organizational arrangements in order to open a regular maritime container transport line between the ports of Skikda and Valencia.
According to the same source, this line with a regular weekly service will be operational from January 2026 and will strengthen Skikda’s place as a “strategic logistics axis in the Mediterranean”. The operation allows “to expand Algeria’s commercial activities, especially after the success of the test trips carried out by the Spanish company to the port of Skikda having shown the efficiency of the loading and unloading operations of ships, the short waiting time at the docks and the availability of modern human and logistical resources newly acquired by the port company of Skikda in addition to the ongoing extension of the container terminal which will increase the capacity of the port,” added the same source.
