🇺🇸📞🇻🇪🇻🇪 — Infobae reports that Trump spoke with Maduro last week and told Maduro that he and his allies (Vladimir Padrino Lopez, Diosdado Cabello, the Rodriguez siblings) should leave soon otherwise military pressure will intensify.

➡️ Over the past weekend, Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Nicolás Maduro to warn that the United States would escalate military actions if he did not leave Caracas in the near future.

➡️ Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio participated in the conversation between the Republican leader and the Venezuelan dictator.

📝 Rubio’s inclusion in the contact with Maduro implies that the Republican administration has already ruled out alternative tactics with the populist regime—oil contracts, for example—which had been proposed in other circles of power within the White House as a means of negotiation to begin the Venezuelan transition.

➡️ In his conversation with Maduro, Trump did not propose a negotiating table or a roadmap to allow the Venezuelan dictator to buy time in the face of the military encirclement deployed by the Pentagon.

📝 On the contrary, the US president reaffirmed to Maduro his political commitment to dismantle the drug cartels operating under the protection of Miraflores Palace.
