🇻🇪🇺🇸🛢 — Venezuelan Journalist Erik Suarez on X:
The oil argument is so lazy because literally until the last administration the US was getting oil licenses in Venezuela.
Literally, the US getting Venezuelan oil, and they could have kept it going.
This is the biggest proof that the actions taken in Venezuela do not primarily respond to a desire to get oil but to address national security concerns and foreign influence issues.
Nevertheless, a restoration of a democratic republic in Venezuela could lead to better and more favorable oil and mineral deals in the country, and why not, even the privatization of Venezuelan subsoil.
That would be of great benefit to both Venezuela and the US.
