A New North African Country coming? France-based Movement says that it could be!
➡️ On today, December 14, 2025 AD, Leaders of the Movement for Self-Determination of the Kabylie Region (MAK) held a meeting in Paris, gathering all factions and parties that support Kabylie Independence from Algeria
➡️ According to them, Members of MAK officially declared the independence of the Kabylie region, now known as the “Federal Kabyle Republic.”
➡️ The ceremony was held in a private place (a hotel) located near the Arc de Triomphe, in front of a large audience consisting of activists, movement executives, and figures from several countries.
➡️ The statement was followed by a speech by Ferhat Mhenni, President of MAK, who is now recognized as the “President of the Kabyle Republic in Exile”, and then the national anthem of the Kabylie region
➡️ Many speakers, including parliamentarians, associations and international activists, praised the event and described it as historic.
🔥 Despite some unrest, the international dimension of the ceremony enhanced its symbolic importance, which was widely transmitted across social networks.
➡️ The ceremony was initially scheduled to be held at the Congress Palace in Versailles, but it was banned by a decision from the prefecture, due to the risk of disturbances in public order by Algerian migrants in France. After the emergency call remained without a quick response, the organizers chose a private venue in order to keep the event in compliance with French legislation.
👮♂️ An important security apparatus was deployed around the site, in a context characterized by counter-mobilization attempts attributed to the Algerian Authories and part of the diaspora.
➡️ This unilateral declaration constitutes an unprecedented act in the political history of Algeria since its independence. This represents a clear break with the cultural or identity claims that the tribal movement has held until now, as part of an explicitly independent approach.
➡️ Hence, MAK intends to challenge international public opinion, foreign chancelleries and international institutions on the Kabylie issue.
🔥 In a climate of strong political tension between Algeria and the Kabyla independence movements, this announcement opens a new phase of confrontation, internally and internationally.
