A Hanukkah celebration in Sydney’s Bondi area was targeted in an antisemitic terrorist attack, Jews were deliberately singled out at the event.

Among the victims identified so far: Matilda Britvan (10); Rabbis Eli Schlanger (41) and Yaakov Levitan (39); Holocaust survivor Alex Kleytman (87); Dan Elkayam (27); Reuven Morrison (62); Marika Pogany (82); Tibor Weitzen (78); Boris Gurman (69) and Sofia Gurman (61); Edith Brutman; and Peter Meagher (61).

These were civilians, rabbis, elders, volunteers, a Holocaust survivor, and a child, murdered for one reason: they were Jews celebrating their identity in public.
