
🇹🇼🗂📆 — On this day, 78 years ago, December 25 1947, Generalissimo Chaing Kai-Shek launched the ROC Constitution, on Christmas, to secure individual liberty and dignity for the Chinese people
➡️ 2 years after the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan, the National Government convened the Political Consultative Conference. The PCC invited representatives from the Kuomintang, the Communist Party, the Youth Party, and the Democratic Socialist Party to negotiate and discuss the formulation of the Constitution.
➡️ On December 25, 35th year of the Republic of China, the National Assembly passed the third reading of the Constitution of the Republic of China drafted by Zhang Junmai.
President Chiang delivered a speech, celebrating the nation’s embarking on the path of constitutional government.

📝 It would be the first time in Chinese Republican history that China ever had a proper Constitution that would pave ground for stable rule and national recovery following the brutal war against Imperial Japan
