The President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired, this Monday, at the Military Academy of the late President Houari-Boumediene of Cherchell (Tipasa), the graduation ceremony for the year 2023-2024.
The ceremony took place in the presence of senior state officials and senior officers of the National People’s Army (ANP). After listening, in the lounge of honor, to a presentation on the training course at the Academy and the outgoing promotions named after the late mujahid Colonel Youcef Khatib, the President of the Republic presided over the traditional annual graduation ceremony of officer promotions. This is the 55th promotion of active officer cadets of basic training, the 17th promotion of basic common military training and the 8th promotion of Master officers, including the first promotion of female officers for the benefit of the Land Forces Command.
On this occasion, the Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, Army General Said Chanegriha, delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks and gratitude to the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defense, for having personally presided over the graduation ceremony of officers, thereby saluting the special attention and constant interest enjoyed by the Academy, like the various training schools of the National People’s Army.
Army General Said Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army, stressed that the Cherchell Military Academy, like other training establishments of the National People’s Army, trains highly qualified executives, armed with different sciences and imbued with national and republican values, aware of all the contexts and transformations that our world is experiencing.
Army General Said Chengriha welcomed the graduation of the first class of female officer cadets from the Land Forces Command, who will be deployed in combat units.
The ANP Chief of Staff also welcomed the initiatives taken by Algeria under the leadership of the President of the Republic, at the diplomatic and military levels, to help neighboring countries restore their stability and preserve their popular and territorial unity.
The President of the Republic had arrived earlier at the Academy where he was welcomed by Army General Said Chanegriha.
The Head of State then reviewed a detachment of the ANP, which paid him honors, before listening to the national anthem.
He also paid tribute to the memory of the late President Houari Boumediene, after whom the Military Academy is named, by laying a wreath in front of the commemorative stele and reciting the Fatiha of the Holy Quran over his soul.
