The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, of the National Community abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, said, this Saturday, that the reception by Algeria of the fourth edition of the intra-African trade fair is “the fruit of the will of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to assume the responsibility of Algeria in the contribution in the African Renaissance”.
During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister said that Algeria’s initiative to organize this 2025 edition “is not the result of chance or circumstantial or procedural events, but a thoughtful and prospective choice in the whole acceptance of the term”. He explained that this decision is based on three major foundations.
The first is that the reception of this fair constitutes “the result of the determination of President Tebboune to see Algeria assume its responsibilities in the African Renaissance”.
The second, according to the Minister, is that the organization of this continental event “reflects the deep conviction of the Head of State that development is the key to security and stability on the continent: wars and deprivation are not fatalities, but solvent problems as soon as the political will and the necessary tools exist”.
The third point expresses “the president’s desire to highlight the potential for partnership between African countries in the fields of trade and investment, as well as to give a strong impetus to the process of global African renaissance”.
In this perspective, Mr. Attaf stressed that the fourth edition of the intra-African trade fair in Algeria “was not just a simple economic event, but a continental meeting to reaffirm the commitment to an integrated African economic approach, strengthen the foundations for authentic sovereignty and allow Africa to conquer a place worthy of it on the international scene”.
The Minister concluded by affirming that today “Africa is no longer resigned to international order and no longer compromises on the clarity and responsibility for its demands, having adopted a global and coherent strategy”.
Algerian-Burundian relations are excellent
In addition, the Minister of State said that relations between Algeria and Burundi are in good shape, announcing that a visit to the Burundian president in Algeria is in preparation.
Attaf reacted to the comments aroused by the attitude of the Burundian Prime Minister during the opening ceremony of the intra-African trade fair. “I was fortunate to be the special envoy of the President of the Republic to Burundi last year to prepare for the elections for the African Union and I received a completely exceptional welcome,” he recalled.
The head of diplomacy stressed that “there is no problem between the two countries” and that “in the event of a dispute, the Burundian Prime Minister would not have been sent to attend the show”.
