Today, at the Pins Maritimes Exhibition Center in Algiers, the 4th edition of the E-commerce and Online Services Exhibition, ECSEL Expo, opens. For four days, from October 15 to 18, 2025, the event brings together all the players in the national and continental digital ecosystem, in a space of more than 10,000 m². More than 250 exhibitors, from various sectors linked to e-commerce and online services, are participating, making this edition the most important ever organized in the region.
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of several members of the government, including the Minister of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation, Amel Abdellatif, the Minister of the Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, Noureddine Ouadah, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Sid Ali Zerrouki, as well as the High Commissioner for Digitalization, Meriem Benmouloud. The strong institutional representation reflects the growing interest of public authorities in digital transformation and the connected economy, considered essential levers of the country’s economic diversification. Invited this morning on Channel 3 of Algerian Radio, the founder of the show, Chemseddine Habhoub, recalled that the ECSEL Expo is today “the largest African show dedicated to e-commerce and online services, both in terms of its surface area and the number of exhibitors and visitors.” He highlighted that the previous edition had attracted nearly 50,000 unique visitors, a figure which he considers indicative of the growing interest of the public and professionals in digital commerce. Beyond the figures, the event aims to be a showcase of the solutions and technologies that support the growth of e-commerce in Algeria. Visitors will discover a wide range of companies offering services essential to the activity of e-retailers: logistics companies, payment platforms, cybersecurity providers, management software developers, Internet access providers, banks, insurance companies, but also public institutions such as the General Tax Directorate (DGI) or the National Self-Employed Agency. The stated objective of this 4th edition is clear: to make e-commerce an engine of growth and a tool for economic inclusion.
In a context of accelerated digital change, the show highlights the opportunities offered to young entrepreneurs, start-ups and small businesses wishing to expand their market using digital tools. It also constitutes a place for exchanges and networking between public and private actors, to identify the challenges to be met and accelerate the digitalization of services. Through this show, Algiers is establishing itself as an essential regional platform for online commerce and digital transformation. ECSEL Expo 2025 is thus positioned not only as an exhibition and technological demonstration space, but also as a laboratory of ideas for the future of digital commerce in Africa.
