The director of promotion and support of economic exchanges at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, Rabah Fassih, called, the day before yesterday Sunday in Algiers, for the intensification of efforts to increase the volume of trade, he said. Examining the possibilities of exploiting available investment opportunities, particularly in areas where Poland enjoys know-how and experience, such as agriculture, agri-food, energy, particularly renewable energies and agricultural equipment.
Speaking at the Algerian-Polish Business Forum, during which economic operators from the two countries showed their desire to establish more investment partnerships and intensify bilateral trade, Rabah Fassih stressed the importance of this forum which is part, he said, of the strengthening of commercial and economic relations linking the two countries, which comes following the Algerian-Polish political consultations in March 2023, crowned by a number of recommendations including, strengthening and intensifying economic cooperation between the two countries.
“This Forum takes place in a particular situation where Algeria has carried out numerous reforms aimed at improving the business climate, in particular the new law on investment, the monetary law, and the legislative framework relating to economic land,” a- he continued.
For his part, the charge d’affaires at the Polish Embassy in Algeria, Przemyslaw Gumiela, said that the holding of the Forum confirmed the dynamics of bilateral relations, and the interest of Polish companies in developing economic relations. and to invest in Algeria. Noting that the current volume of trade is likely to increase, taking into account the capacities of Algeria, a large country in Africa, and Poland as an economic power in Europe.
For her part, the person in charge of Economic Affairs at the Polish Embassy in Algeria, Ms. Ewa Niemier-Pawlowska, highlighted her country’s interest in the promising Algerian market, underlining the importance of the new reforms carried out by the Algeria, particularly in the legislative field relating to investment.
Organized by the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), in collaboration with the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the Polish Embassy in Algeria, this Forum allows business opportunities to be explored between operators from the two countries. , to quote the president of the CACI, Kamel Hamenni, brought together more than 140 Algerian economic operators and a delegation of Polish businessmen made up of representatives of 15 large Polish companies operating in various fields, notably construction and public works , electricity, agriculture and marketing of agricultural products, agricultural machinery and equipment, veterinary products, steelmaking and consulting. “Algeria, which experiences financial and economic stability and has the necessary infrastructure, has recorded a notable improvement in its business climate, in particular thanks to the developments in the legal frameworks linked to investment,” a- he said.
The Director General of the CACI, Hocine Zaoui, for his part, underlined the desire to intensify economic exchanges between the two countries with a view to raising them to greater levels. Believing that this Forum constituted an important opportunity to develop bilateral economic and commercial relations and promote them to the level of solid friendly relations between the two countries.
