Approximate paths of the missiles from tonight’s Russian attack on Ukraine.
10 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched from 2 Tu-160 strategic bombers in the Kalachyovksy District of Volgograd Oblast were used, targeting the Starokostyantyniv Airbase in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. It’s likely that the Tu-95MS bombers did not take part in the attack.
Interception rates are unclear, but 2 missiles are known to have been shot down, likely during the first group’s transit through southern Kyiv Oblast. Other unknown interceptions are possible.
No other types of missiles were launched during this attack, however dozens of Geran-2 drones hit targets in various parts of the country – including at Starokostyantyniv. I will give more details on the drones later.
