In a press release dated yesterday Wednesday, the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) made public the latest operational assessment from October 22 to 28 of the ANP Forces, through which the MDN announced the arrest of seven accomplices of terrorist groups through numerous anti-terrorist operations carried out in different wilayas of the country.
“In the dynamic of sustained efforts in the fight against terrorism and against multifaceted organized crime, units and detachments of the ANP executed, during the period from October 22 to 28, 2025, several operations leading to quality results which reflect the high professionalism, vigilance and permanent availability of our Armed Forces throughout the national territory,” the MDN reported yesterday. This strong dynamic of the units and detachments of the ANP against the various criminal scourges including against terrorism has enabled, during the last week, “the location, identification then arrest of seven (7) elements of support for terrorist groups, in different operations across the national territory”, noted the assessment of the ANP.
Furthermore, and on another battle front, the fight against the scourge of organized crime and in continuity with the efforts deployed to counter the scourge of drug trafficking in our country, “combined detachments of the ANP intercepted, in coordination with the various security services, during operations carried out across the Military Regions, 51 drug traffickers and foiled attempts to introduce 7 quintals and 21 kilograms of processed kif coming from the borders with Morocco, while 155,978 psychotropic tablets were seized,” announced the weekly report of the MDN yesterday Wednesday.
In Tamanrasset, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, In Salah, In Guezzam and Illizi, ANP detachments arrested 204 individuals and seized 52 vehicles, 208 generators, 144 jackhammers, as well as quantities of mixture of raw gold and stones and equipment used in illicit gold panning operations.
These are gold miners from different African nationalities, it should be noted. While in the fight against smuggling, 12 smugglers were apprehended and 5 Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, 1 sniper rifle, 10 hunting rifles, 47,778 liters of fuel, as well as 14 quintals of tobacco and 44 tonnes of foodstuffs intended for smuggling and speculation were seized, during separate operations, specified the same source.
Finally, the Coast Guard foiled, on the national coasts, attempts at illegal emigration and rescued 175 individuals aboard homemade boats, while 478 illegal immigrants of different nationalities were arrested across the national territory, concluded the weekly operational report of the ANP Forces presented yesterday by the MDN.
