No fewer than 103 children from the Algerian community residing in France disembarked in Oran on Thursday evening, accompanied by 12 supervisors before being transported to the Salamandre youth centre in Mostaganem for a 14-day stay.
This operation is taking place “in execution of the instructions of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who gave in the Council of Ministers to welcome this summer 2,000 children from the Algerian community residing abroad”, indicated the central director at the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MJS), Rahal Nadir, who was at the head of the delegation receiving this group of children.
He wanted to clarify that this is a national operation that aims to connect the children of our community abroad with their country of origin, through the programming of several activities, including visits to historical and tourist sites. This will allow them to highlight the potential that Algeria has in this area and contribute to consolidating and strengthening the culture of belonging to their country of origin among these children.
For his part, the director of Youth and Sports of Oran, Adel Tedjar, affirmed that this initiative concerns, in its first phase which began this Thursday, 1,000 children who were welcomed in different Algerian airports, stressing that it will be followed within two weeks by others.
