The examinations for the Brevet d’enseignement supérieur (BEM) continued this Tuesday for the second day. After successfully overcoming the stress of the first day, candidates for this exam were faced with a new, dreaded test, namely mathematics. Reviews were mixed. Some students found the subject approachable and others found it difficult.
This Tuesday, the second day of the tests was not favorable to all the candidates, for whom mathematics constitutes an obsession and a “pet peeve”.
“Frankly, it was too hard,” testified, disappointed, a group of girls met at the Haroun-Errachid examination center. Same observation of desolation among other candidates, upset, in front of the same examination center. “If the physics and Arabic test were easy yesterday, today the math test was particularly difficult,” said the teenagers, who regret having missed this important test.
Asma, a candidate for this exam, said that the subject of the mathematics test, “although consistent with the school curriculum, was quite difficult”. However, she was able to respond through focus and determination to succeed.
Other candidates, on the other hand, considered the test affordable, the questions having been taken from the school program taught in class, in person. “It was very easy,” said candidates. “The mathematics test was within the reach of all those who prepared well for it,” confided a candidate approached at the exit of the exam center. She added: “In any case, the subject was easier than the ones we are used to covering in class. The exercises were not very complicated, except for one of them which required a lot of thought. »
This is the remark made by several students, who say they are relieved but above all more serene for the afternoon test, namely history-geography, which is totally based on memorization, therefore easier, according to students.
A mother who was waiting for her son at the exit of the establishment estimated, after consulting the questions, that the test was affordable for candidates who had prepared their lessons well. She noted, however, that “the subject was a bit long”.
Unlike the math test, the English test was “easy and affordable”, according to the majority of students approached.
The students had to take the history-geography tests during the afternoon, before returning home to prepare for today, namely the third day of exams.
The second day of the BEM tests thus ended with a note of hope, looking forward to today. This is the home stretch for the candidates, who will take part in French language tests, natural and life sciences as well as Amazigh language tests for the students concerned. It should be noted that the first two days of the exam took place in good conditions across the national territory.
On the first day, kicking off the tenth event from the wilaya of Annaba, the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belabed, insisted on the need to respect the method of conducting official exams, as well as respecting the time allocated to candidates. He also emphasized the need to open the envelopes containing the exam subjects according to the timing of the exam code.
