In his speech delivered the day before yesterday at the International Conference Center in Algiers on the occasion of his participation in the commemorative activities of International Children’s Day, celebrated on June 1 each year, the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belaabed spoke of the vital interest of digitalization in the national educational system in particular and in civil society in general. “This is a destiny imposed by the new global era, which we must follow to have a place among the pioneering countries of technological civilization,” observed Abdelhakim Belaabed. By participating, the day before yesterday, alongside the Minister of National Solidarity, Family and the Status of Women, Kaouthar Krikou, in the international seminar on the theme “Children and the Internet” organized by Unicef at the International Conference Center (CIC) in Algiers, the Minister of National Education, Abdelhakim Belaabed highlighted the capital role of new technology in the educational world.
“Modern technology has imposed itself on all segments of civil society and has become a symbol of civilizational progress, and any development of civil society must be accompanied by development in the educational field,” said the minister. of National Education during his speech delivered to those present at the International Conference Center. “This is what actually happened. Technology has entered our schools, universities and public institutions, and knowing technology and keeping up with the information trend have become an urgent necessity in the age of knowledge and information. , will say Abdelhakim Belaabed. “There is no doubt that the entry of the knowledge society into the technological society has become an urgent necessity dictated by the nature of the times, even by the global context in which we live. The question that arises today is: “Should we enter the era of knowledge and technology or not?” The crucial question now is rather how?”, underlined the minister.
Adding that “integrating and investing in technology in education is a major step and a golden opportunity to move forward, or even accelerate quickly and at the lowest cost, in order to be able to reserve a place alongside countries at the forefront of technological civilization,” underlined the minister. Recalling Algeria’s strategy for the development of the national education sector, Belaabed mentioned the important measures taken by the State, among others the integration of digital tablets in all schools, but also textbooks digitized schools as well as digital platforms for distance education, where the minister will say that these are great advances made by the Ministry of National Education in the field of digitalization guaranteeing transparency, fairness and effective traceability. “Today, we can be proud of the tangible achievements made by the Ministry of National Education in the field of digitalization,” emphasized Abdelhakim Belaabed.
