🇧🇷🤝🇺🇦⚰️🗺 — Brazilians who formed a group to travel to Ukraine to fight in the war are being accused of murder and investigated for allegedly implementing a torture system at the site. They command a unit called “Advanced,” linked to the Ukrainian Army.

On December 28 of last year, Bruno Gabriel Leal da Silva, a 28-year-old from the state of Pernambuco, was found dead in this unit. At the time, the group was near Kyiv, the country’s capital. Ukrainian government authorities stated in a note that the death is being investigated as a “potential crime.”

The practice of torture within the group calling itself “Advanced” is widely known among Brazilians operating in Ukraine. Speaking anonymously, several described scenes of violence, mistreatment, delayed payment of salaries and bonuses, retention of passports, and torture.

The Brazilian government is aware of the torture cases and has reinforced its guidance that Brazilians should not enlist in foreign armies.
