BREAKING: Israeli security forces engaged in a fierce firefight with an Arab terrorist in eastern Nablus, northern Judea and Samaria, the IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police announced.

In a joint statement, the agencies said troops, elite Yamam counter-terrorism police, and Shin Bet operatives were conducting an arrest raid aimed at neutralizing terrorist activity.

During the operation, security forces exchanged heavy fire with the terrorist, who was subsequently killed by Yamam officers.

The Arab terrorist eliminated in the raid is the same individual suspected of carrying out a deadly car-ramming attack on May 29, 2024, near Nablus that murdered two Israeli soldiers: Staff Sgt. Eliya Hilel and Staff Sgt. Diego Shvisha Harsaj, both 20-year-old infantrymen serving in the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion.

Following the May attack, the terrorist fled into Nablus and initially surrendered to Palestinian Authority security forces. Rather than transfer him to Israel, the PA released him, allowing him to remain at large until tonight’s operation.
