BREAKING: Israel’s security establishment confirmed today that the remains returned by Hamas last night belong to fallen hostage Ofir Tzarfati, whose body was already recovered by IDF forces in Gaza in December 2023, less than two months after his abduction during the October 7 massacre.

Military representatives informed Tzarfati’s family that the newly returned remains are additional fragments of his body.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office condemned the handover as “a blatant breach of the agreement,” under which Hamas was to return the bodies of the 13 slain hostages still held in Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene a security consultation this afternoon with senior defense officials to determine Israel’s response to Hamas’s violation.
