Breakthrough or Brinkmanship? U.S.–Iran Nuclear Talks Resume With “Significant Progress”
Nuclear talks on Thursday wrapped up in Geneva with the Omani foreign minister expressing optimism and saying that real progress was made. An official said both sides showed flexibility, and the new proposal submitted by Iran’s foreign minister offered more concessions than Iran had previously been willing to agree to. Other officials said that talks are advancing to a nuclear framework that may culminate in an agreement. Another round of talks is scheduled for next week in Vienna.
