🇮🇱🇺🇸 Capt. Omer Neutra Laid to Rest in Tel Aviv 🕯️

Capt. Omer Neutra, 22, was buried today in Tel Aviv. Born in Long Island, he came to Israel on a gap-year and chose to stay, enlisting as a lone soldier in the IDF.

On Oct. 7, 2023, Omer and his tank crew fought on the Gaza border until they were surrounded and captured. For 758 days, his family lived between hope and heartbreak. This week, his remains were finally returned.

A large crowd accompanied Neutra on his final journey. Among them his crew member, captivity survivor Nimrod Cohen.

At the funeral, friends and family from New York stood beside soldiers from his unit. His father said:
“He is home now…not the way we prayed for. But he is home.”
