Classic Dictator: Putin is a paranoid control freak and insecure wannabe alpha male. When things go wrong, he consistently disappears, leaving others to take the blame. He is such a bad politician that he couldn’t survive long in a democracy.
Putin has been conspicuously absent during most of the Kursk incursion, while russia is confronting an invasion on its own soil. This is not the first humiliation of the war for Putin; however, it is a significant one.
This has occurred numerous times in the past, such as when Prigozhin and Wagner attempted a coup last year. Rumors even circulated that Putin had left Moscow due to his prolonged absence.
It is a consistent pattern when confronting unpopular decisions. Putin delegated COVID restrictions to local governments and allowed the government to manage the unpopular retirement reform during his fourth term.
Putin consistently shifts the responsibility for crises or unpopular policies onto others. He takes credit for successes and attributes failures to others, which does not align with the behavior expected of a true leader. He is effectively a dishonest coward.
Similar to many dictators, Putin is fearful of his own people. This fear also clarifies why he is hesitant to mobilize again, despite facing challenges in recruitment and having to increase bonuses.
Putin’s lack of courage renders him unsuitable for thriving in a democratic setting. His success hinges on complete media control and the absence of opposition. In addition to the flawed policies, his inadequacy as a politician is apparent.
